Safe Harbor Notice

TorrentX does not host, store, or distribute any copyrighted content. This site operates as a search engine and index for torrent metadata (magnet links and informational data) that is publicly available on the BitTorrent network. All content indexed by this site is uploaded and distributed by third-party users. TorrentX has no control over, and assumes no responsibility for, the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party content or services.

In accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512) and the EU E-Commerce Directive (2000/31/EC), TorrentX qualifies as a service provider and is eligible for safe harbor protection. We respond expeditiously to valid takedown notices and will remove or disable access to allegedly infringing material upon receipt of a properly formed DMCA notice.

1. Filing a DMCA Takedown Request

If you believe that content linked on TorrentX infringes your copyright, you may submit a takedown request through our DMCA Takedown Form or by emailing our designated agent at dmca@torrentx.cc with the following information:

  • A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or authorized agent
  • Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed
  • Identification of the material claimed to be infringing, with sufficient detail for us to locate it (URL or torrent ID)
  • Your contact information (name, address, phone number, email)
  • A statement that you have a good faith belief that use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law
  • A statement that the information in the notification is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on behalf of the owner

2. Processing Takedown Requests

Upon receipt of a valid DMCA takedown notice, we will:

  • Acknowledge receipt of your request within 24 hours
  • Review the claim for validity and completeness
  • Remove or disable access to the allegedly infringing material within 24-48 hours
  • Notify the user who uploaded the content of the takedown
  • Maintain a record of the takedown for our files

3. Counter-Notification

If your content was removed due to a DMCA notice and you believe the removal was erroneous or that you have authorization from the copyright owner, you may file a counter-notification. Your counter-notification must include:

  • Your name, address, and phone number
  • Identification of the material that was removed and the location where it appeared before removal
  • A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief the material was removed by mistake or misidentification
  • Your physical or electronic signature

If we receive a valid counter-notification, we will forward it to the original complainant. The complainant has 10-14 business days to file a court action. If no court action is filed, we may restore the removed content.

4. Repeat Infringers

We maintain a policy to terminate, in appropriate circumstances, users who are deemed to be repeat infringers. We may also, at our sole discretion, limit access to the site for any user who infringes any intellectual property rights.

5. No Liability for Third-Party Content

TorrentX acts solely as an index and search engine. We do not upload, host, store, transcode, or serve any media files. All torrents and magnet links indexed by this site point to content that is distributed peer-to-peer by third parties outside of our control. We are not responsible for any content accessed through links on our site.
