今回は江戸の夏のオールナイトイベント！品川高輪の海辺に、江戸っ子がこぞって見物に出かけた。すし、そば、天ぷらなどの屋台が並び、芸者や芸人も。この大騒ぎの目的は？

 大勢の人でにぎわう品川高輪の海辺。すし、そば、天ぷらなどの屋台がずらりと並び、芸者や芸人の姿も。大人気イベント「二十六夜待ち」だ。二十六夜とは、月が欠けて、見えるか見えないかの細～い形の月が出る夜。旧暦７月２６日（今の９月上旬）の夜は、とりわけ大フィーバーのイベントだった。もとは信仰行事だったが、江戸っ子は、まるで現代のお祭りやイベントのように大騒ぎ！。その熱気に便乗しようとする人もいたようで…。
