Map Map - A Game About Maps is a tranquil single-player adventure that invites you to explore a series of beautifully crafted islands in search of a legendary lost treasure. As the leader of a small crew of adventurers, you travel from island to island, setting up camp and accepting quests that challenge you to locate specific landmarks and hidden spots in the surrounding landscape. The game emphasizes real cartography, encouraging you to carefully observe your environment and accurately mark ruins, landmarks, and secrets on your map using traditional navigation tools. Progression in the game is tied to unlocking and mastering various instruments such as compasses, telescopes, and sextants, which allow you to measure distances, scan horizons, and triangulate your position with increasing precision. Each newly acquired tool opens up fresh opportunities to chart the islands in greater detail, deepening your connection to the environment. The islands themselves are rich with ancient ruins, wildlife, hidden paths, and subtle details that reward careful exploration and curiosity. Rather than relying on hand-holding, Map Map encourages a thoughtful and creative approach to navigation, letting you experience the satisfying challenge of understanding and mapping a place through observation and discovery.
