Through your old-school PC system, you can order titles and even acquire rare exclusives from a mysterious Tape Dealer, adding depth to your inventory choices. Gameplay centers around the daily operations of running the store, including renting and selling tapes, managing reservations, and handling returns. You’ll hire and oversee a team of staff to help with tasks like rewinding tapes, setting aside reserved movies, and managing late or damaged returns—all while navigating varied customer reactions. Seasonal changes and special holidays influence customer behavior, making certain days busier and adding dynamic challenges to the experience. Beyond business management, the simulator encourages social interaction, allowing players to share movie codes with friends to expand their collective catalogs.
