Wartorn is a single-player, squad-based roguelite that immerses players in the war-ravaged Isles of Talaur, where two sisters, Yara and Elani, strive to reach the safety of their ancestral fortress, Beynun. The game combines strategic real-time combat with a unique elemental system, encouraging players to harness the interactions between fire, water, tar, plant, and lightning to overcome diverse enemies. These elements interact dynamically—water can extinguish fire or heal plant-based units, tar fuels flames, and electricity spreads through wet conditions—offering rich tactical depth that rewards clever squad composition and battlefield positioning. Players build and manage a caravan by recruiting fantasy creatures such as goblins, elves, demons, and treefolk, each bringing distinct abilities and strategic options.
