Total War: THREE KINGDOMS - The Furious Wild expansion introduces a fresh frontier to the acclaimed strategy game by expanding the map into the dense jungles of Southern China. This new region is home to the fierce and diverse Nanman tribes, offering players a chance to explore untamed territories and face the challenge of uniting these fragmented groups. The expansion adds a rich layer of cultural diversity with four new playable Nanman factions, each with unique mechanics, units, and narratives that deepen the strategic complexity. Players can command legendary leaders like Meng Huo, Lady Zhurong, King Mulu, and King Shamoke, each bringing distinctive abilities and playstyles—from powerful war elephants and tiger companions to fiery maces and stealthy jungle skirmishers. The Furious Wild also introduces a new character progression system centered around feats that unlock traits, as well as a Nanman-specific technology tree that requires completing special missions to advance. Players can pursue unification of the tribes through diplomacy, conquest, or a mix of both, navigating unique narrative events and seasonal mechanics that influence gameplay. Whether engaging in brutal jungle warfare or forging uneasy alliances, the expansion challenges players to master new units, including exotic beasts and specialized infantry, while contending with the harsh environment and the looming threat of the Han dynasty’s Southern Campaign. With start dates set in 190 and 194 CE, The Furious Wild adds fresh strategic opportunities and storytelling possibilities to the Total War: THREE KINGDOMS experience.
