Submachine: Legacy is a hand-drawn puzzle adventure set in a sprawling underground world filled with submerged machinery and crumbling structures. Players take on the role of a lone researcher exploring over 1,900 interconnected rooms, each carefully crafted to evoke a mysterious and eerie atmosphere. As you navigate this vast network of desolate locations, you’ll encounter a variety of puzzles that require you to repair machinery, find missing components, and reactivate power sources. The gameplay revolves around piecing together broken devices—gears, levers, coils, and lamps—to gradually restore functionality and uncover the secrets hidden within the ruins. The game’s story unfolds through a series of notes and documents left behind by a banished lighthouse keeper, guiding you deeper into the enigmatic world of Submachine. Divided into chapters that unlock as you progress, the narrative invites you to discover what led to the downfall of this subterranean realm. With its detailed hand-drawn visuals and ambient soundtrack by ThumpMonks and Marcus Gutierrez, Submachine: Legacy creates a haunting atmosphere that complements the solitary experience of exploration and puzzle-solving. The combination of intricate puzzles, immersive storytelling, and distinctive art style makes it a compelling journey for fans of atmospheric adventure games.
