Citizens: On Mars is a turn-based strategy game that blends city-building with puzzle-like decision-making, set against the challenging backdrop of Mars. Players take on the role of a colony leader tasked with developing a fledgling settlement on the Red Planet. Each turn requires careful planning to manage scarce resources, expand territory, and guide the colony’s growth while navigating the unforgiving Martian environment. The game’s progression is shaped by a dynamic faction system, where maintaining a delicate balance between social, scientific, and industrial interests is crucial to sustaining harmony and advancing the settlement. The experience is enriched by a handcrafted campaign that tests players’ leadership and strategic thinking through a series of escalating challenges. Random events such as worker strikes and smuggler interference add unpredictability, forcing players to adapt their strategies. Additionally, a random map generator offers virtually unlimited replayability by creating new scenarios and landscapes to explore. This variety ensures each game presents fresh obstacles and opportunities, encouraging players to continually refine their approach. Citizens: On Mars invites you to chart the future of humanity’s expansion into space, making tough decisions that will determine whether your colony thrives or falters amid the harsh realities of life on the Red Planet.
