Chronique des Silencieux (v3.7) [TorrentX]

Chronique des Silencieux is a narrative-driven detective game set in the atmospheric backdrop of 1970s southern France. Players step into the shoes of a rookie private investigator tasked with unraveling the mysteries surrounding Victor Dousvalon, a reclusive history professor who guards the secrets of his past closely—even from his own daughter, Catherine. When a seemingly minor accident prompts Victor to hire the player to help Catherine piece together his hidden history, the investigation quickly reveals a complex web of family tensions, unspoken regrets, and elusive truths. The story invites players to question why Victor refuses to share his story and what has caused Catherine’s sudden interest in her father’s life after years of distance. Gameplay centers on classic detective work, encouraging players to think critically and pursue leads in a nonlinear fashion. Instead of following a predetermined path, players must decide which clues to follow, whom to question, and how to interpret the often guarded responses they receive. The game emphasizes active deduction, requiring players to engage deeply with witnesses and sift through personal documents to uncover the motives and histories of those involved. By immersing players in the everyday struggles and hidden burdens of the characters, Chronique des Silencieux offers a grounded exploration of personal history and the silence people maintain around their pasts.
