Songs of Steel: Hispania invites players to step into the turbulent era of the Numantia War, which unfolded between 153 BC and 133 BC, pitting the determined Roman Republic against the resilient Celtiberian tribes of ancient Hispania. Players can choose to lead either side in two distinct campaigns, each featuring historical figures like the Roman general Publius Cornelius Scipio and Celtiberian warriors such as Rhetogenes, Megara, Ambo, and Leuco. The game combines a richly detailed narrative with hand-drawn illustrations that bring the period’s beauty and brutality to life, immersing players in a world where every decision carries weight both on and off the battlefield. Gameplay centers on tactical combat that emphasizes positioning, flanking, and cover, requiring players to adapt to dynamic objectives and diverse environments—from dense forests and rugged mountains to ancient cities.
