As the commander, you must balance managing resources, researching advanced alien technologies, and overseeing both strategic operations and tactical combat. The game challenges you to build and expand a fully operational base, recruit and customize soldiers, and carefully plan missions that take place across the globe. Each decision you make influences the survival of humanity, creating a tense and immersive experience that combines high-stakes strategy with intense turn-based battles. Developed by Firaxis Games, XCOM: Enemy Unknown reimagines the classic 1990s title with modern graphics, new storylines, and fresh enemy types while preserving the core elements that made the original a beloved strategy game. Combat missions require thoughtful positioning and squad management, as you direct your soldiers through varied and dynamic environments, supported by air units like the Interceptor and Skyranger. The game also includes a global political layer, where you interact with different governments and respond to an escalating threat that spans continents. With over seventy unique missions and a deep progression system for your troops and technologies, XCOM: Enemy Unknown delivers a compelling blend of strategic planning and tactical action that keeps players engaged from start to finish.
