Progression comes through experience points earned during combat, allowing you to upgrade your hero’s abilities and tailor your strategy by selecting different bonuses each day, such as improved infantry or faster production rates. The gameplay combines city-building and tactical defense with a unique card system, where you collect and enhance cards to influence future playthroughs, adding a layer of strategic customization. Even if your city falls, the gold you gather can be used to unlock new technologies, improvements, and card packs, encouraging players to defend longer and build stronger settlements over time. Beyond the core siege mechanics, Warlords Under Siege also offers a level editor, giving players the freedom to create and share their own challenges, adding replayability and a creative outlet to the experience.
